How do you collect your eID card?
You have applied for an eID card. After approximately 3 to 4 weeks, it is ready and you can collect it.
Collect your eID card in person. If you cannot do so yourself, you may authorise another person in writing. For this you need the special power of attorney declaration for the collection of the eID card.
When you applied, you received the PIN letter. Use it to set your own six-digit PIN. Only then is the online identification function ready to use. The PIN letter also contains the unblocking number (PUK) and the blocking password.

- You should collect the eID card in person. If you cannot do so, you may authorise another person with the power of attorney declaration for the collection of the eID card.
How to apply
Wait approximately 3 to 4 weeks after applying, until your eID card is ready
Go to the Bürgeramt (citizens office) in person or send an authorised person with the power of attorney declaration and their identity document
Done! You have received your eID card. Now set your own six-digit PIN using the PIN letter
