The Foreigners' Office (A 33) of the StädteRegion Aachen is a central authority for the entire region and is spread across several locations. The main office is at Hackländerstraße 1 in Aachen. The first point of contact for everyone is the Infostelle (information desk), which provides qualified initial guidance and serves as a central filter for all matters. The electronic residence permits (eAT cards) are issued at the branch office in the Aachen Arkaden (Trierer Straße 1). International students, researchers, and skilled professionals from RWTH are looked after by a dedicated office at Templergraben. Unlike in many regions, there is no separate authority for the city of Aachen here: the Foreigners' Office of the StädteRegion is responsible for all ten cities and municipalities, including the city of Aachen itself.
