For the surrounding district of Amberg-Sulzbach, by contrast, the Landratsamt Amberg-Sulzbach is responsible - so make sure you go to the right office depending on where you live. Within the city administration, the Ausländerbehörde belongs to the Social Affairs division; closely connected to it are naturalisation (Einbürgerung) and citizenship law, as well as the Welcome Center Amberg, each of which you can approach separately.
