Baden-Baden is its own urban district: if you live in the city, the immigration office (Ausländerbehörde) of the Baden-Baden city administration is responsible for you — not the Rastatt district office (Landratsamt), which only covers the surrounding rural district. The office is part of the city's citizen services (Bürgerservice) and sits in its own office building on Briegelackerstraße, not in the town hall on the Marktplatz. Only the fast-track procedure for skilled workers is not handled here — it runs centrally through the Baden-Württemberg State Agency for the Immigration of Skilled Workers (Landesagentur für die Zuwanderung von Fachkräften, LZF).
