The Foreigners' and Citizenship Authority of the city of Chemnitz is the lower foreigners' authority responsible for people who live in the Chemnitz city area. It is located at Düsseldorfer Platz 1. This should not be confused with the Central Foreigners' Authority at the Landesdirektion Sachsen at the Chemnitz site: that is a separate office, responsible statewide above all for the initial reception of asylum seekers, their distribution, and for returns, not for the ordinary residence matters of Chemnitz residents.
