The Ausländeramt (foreigners office) of the Stadtverwaltung Donaueschingen, as a Große Kreisstadt (large county town), is independently responsible for all residents with a registered address in Donaueschingen. For all other municipalities in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis district, the Ausländer- und Einbürgerungsbehörde at the Landratsamt in Villingen-Schwenningen is responsible. Naturalisations are also handled by the Landratsamt, not by the Stadtverwaltung.
