The Ausländerbehörde Essen is divided into two separate contact points under the umbrella of the Zentrale Ausländerbehörde Essen. The Kommunale Ausländerbehörde (ABH) at Kruppstraße 16 handles general residence law matters. The Welcome- und ServiceCenter Essen (WSC) at Dietrich-Oppenberg-Platz 1 is the dedicated contact point for international skilled workers, students, trainees, researchers, self-employed persons, and ICT workers, as well as their family members. Anyone who does not fall into the WSC target group should contact the Kommunale ABH.
