The Office for Migration and Skilled Worker Immigration (Amt für Migration und Fachkräfteeinwanderung) of Esslingen District is located in Plochingen (Am Aussichtsturm 7) and is responsible for all municipalities in the district with one important exception: the six large district towns of Esslingen, Filderstadt, Kirchheim unter Teck, Leinfelden-Echterdingen, Nürtingen, and Ostfildern operate their own municipal immigration offices and fall outside the jurisdiction of the district administration (Landratsamt).
