The Foreigners' Office (Sachgebiet Ausländeramt) of the Friedrichshafen city administration is an independent immigration authority responsible for residents of the city of Friedrichshafen and the municipalities of Immenstaad and Owingen. For all other municipalities in the district, the Landratsamt Bodenseekreis is responsible. The two authorities are organisationally separate.
