The Ausländerwesen (foreigners' office) of the city of Gaggenau is an independent authority located in the Rathaus Gaggenau (Hauptstraße 71) and is responsible for all residents of the city of Gaggenau. The remaining 19 municipalities in the Landkreis Rastatt are served by the Landratsamt Rastatt. Rastatt, Bühl (including Ottersweier), and Baden-Baden also operate their own Ausländerbehörden. The Ausländerwesen and the social welfare office are in the same building on the ground floor of the Rathaus.
