The Ausländerbehörde Gelsenkirchen (Department for Immigration Affairs 32/2) is located at a single site: Dienstgebäude Machensplatz, Zeppelinallee 4, 45879 Gelsenkirchen. You submit your request via the digital contact form on the city website, where you also upload your documents (up to 10 files, max. 30 MB, as JPG or PDF). The office will then get back to you. According to the authority, personal walk-in visits without a prior request delay processing and are not welcome.

For many matters, yes: residence permits for training, employment, family reunification, Ukraine-related stays, title transfers, and settlement permits as well as EU citizen documents are accepted entirely digitally via the contact form. The form requires a scan of the passport data page. Requests not submitted through the form will not be processed, according to the authority.

No. No appointment is currently required to collect completed eATs and travel documents. You can check the collection status in advance using the online document query on the city website (you will need your 9- or 10-digit document number). Collection takes place at counter 004 in the Zeppelinallee 4 building, without prior registration.

For the accelerated skilled worker procedure, Gelsenkirchen cooperates with the state-wide Zentralstelle Fachkräfteeinwanderung NRW (ZFE NRW), which supports employers with cross-authority coordination.
