Jurisdiction

The Ausländerbehörde of the city of Neumünster is located in the Altes Rathaus (Großflecken 63, ground floor) and handles all residence-law matters from the Neumünster city area in a single office. The office is internally divided into four thematic teams: Team 1 for humanitarian residence (asylum, refugees, Ukraine), Team 2 for family, education, study, and employment, Team 3 for return counselling and EU-citizen matters, and Team 4 for document issuance and address changes. The accelerated skilled-worker procedure under the Fachkräfteeinwanderungsgesetz is not handled by the municipal Ausländerbehörde in Schleswig-Holstein but by the state-wide Zentralstelle für Fachkräfteeinwanderung at the Landesamt für Zuwanderung und Flüchtlinge (LaZuF), which is also based in Neumünster.
