The Amt für Ausländerfragen (foreigners' affairs office) of the city of Trier is split across two separate locations: General immigration law and asylum is handled at Thyrsusstraße 17–19 in Trier-Nord (2nd floor). Nationality and naturalization matters have been processed at the Bürgeramt at Viehmarktplatz 20 since 1 May 2025. There is a dedicated service window on the 3rd floor of the same Thyrsusstraße building for collecting documents (residence permits, travel documents) — no appointment needed for this.
