The Ausländerbehörde of the city administration of Villingen-Schwenningen is responsible exclusively for people who are registered as residents within the city of Villingen-Schwenningen. For all other municipalities in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis district, the Landratsamt Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis in VS is the competent authority. The city's Bürgerbüro Ausländerwesen is housed in its own separate building (Auf der Steig 6), not in either of the two town halls.
