The Ausländeramt Wangen im Allgäu is an independent immigration authority of the city and belongs to the public order and social office. As one of the four large district towns (Kreisstädte) in Landkreis Ravensburg, Wangen is not subordinate to the district immigration authority in Ravensburg but operates its own office. Internal responsibility is divided by the first letter of the applicant's surname.
