What do you do if your electronic residence title has been stolen or lost?
Your electronic residence title (eAT) has been stolen or lost? Then you must act immediately. You are obligated to report the theft to the police and to inform your foreigners authority.
If the online identification function on your eAT was activated, you must have it blocked. Call the blocking hotline 116 116 for this. You need your blocking password. If you no longer have the blocking password, you must go to the foreigners authority in person.
Important: If your eAT has turned up again, the blocking can only be lifted in person at the foreigners authority. However, this is only possible if a new eAT has not yet been ordered.
If you have only lost the supplement sheet (green folding card), you do not need to inform the police or the foreigners authority. The new issuance of the supplement sheet is carried out by the State Office for Immigration.

Report a theft to the police
Inform your foreigners authority (in Berlin: the State Office for Immigration) about the theft or loss by email, telephone, in writing, or in person
Block the online identification function if it was activated: call the blocking hotline 116 116 and provide your blocking password
Inform the foreigners authority about the blocking
Book an appointment for a transfer to have your eAT reissued

Good to know
You can apply for a Fiktionsbescheinigung while your new eAT is being produced. It is valid for the period from ordering to handover. This way you are also protected without the eAT.
Nur wenn ein eAT bestellt wird, kann gem. § 81 Abs. 5 AufenthG i.V.m. § 11 Abs. 4 auf Antrag für den Zeitraum von der Bestellung bis zur eAT-Aushändigung eine Fiktionsbescheinigung mit dem angekreuzten Feld „Der Inhaber/ die Inhaberin hat die Dokumentation eines Aufenthaltsrechts nach dem FreizügG/EU oder dem Abkommen EU-Schweiz beantragt, das hiermit vorläufig bescheinigt wird." ausgestellt werden.

Your residence card or eAT is not a residence title. It only documents your existing right of residence. Even without the document, your right of residence remains valid.
Die Aufenthaltskarte, die Daueraufenthaltskarte und die Bescheinigung des Daueraufenthalts sind keine Aufenthaltstitel im Sinne des § 4 Abs. 1 AufenthG. Durch ihren rein deklaratorischen Charakter ist ihr Besitz für einen rechtmäßigen Aufenthalt ohne Bedeutung.

Your eAT is not an identity document. It is only valid together with your valid passport or identity card. Therefore, always carry both with you.
Da sie keine Identitätsdokumente darstellen, sind sie nur zusammen mit dem eingetragenen Nationalpass oder Personalausweis gültig.
