Linguistic Adaptation
The Federal Ministry of the Interior may adapt the personal designations in this Act by statutory order. It may replace them with gender-neutral or with masculine and feminine designations. The regulatory content must not be changed in the process.
After such an order is issued, the new wording may be published in the Federal Law Gazette.
Das Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat kann durch Rechtsverordnung ohne Zustimmung des Bundesrates die in diesem Gesetz verwendeten Personenbezeichnungen, soweit dies ohne Änderung des Regelungsinhalts möglich und sprachlich sachgerecht ist, durch geschlechtsneutrale oder durch maskuline und feminine Personenbezeichnungen ersetzen und die dadurch veranlassten sprachlichen Anpassungen vornehmen. Das Bundesministerium des Innern, für Bau und Heimat kann nach Erlass einer Verordnung nach Satz 1 den Wortlaut dieses Gesetzes im Bundesgesetzblatt bekannt machen.
