§ 46 AufenthG: Regulatory Orders

The foreigners authority (Ausländerbehörde) can take measures if you are required to leave the country. These measures are meant to promote your departure.
The authority can, for example:
- Restrict your stay to a certain area.
- Prohibit you from entering or leaving certain places.
- Impose a reporting requirement (obligation to register with the authority).
(1) Die Ausländerbehörde kann gegenüber einem vollziehbar ausreisepflichtigen Ausländer Maßnahmen zur Förderung der Ausreise treffen, insbesondere kann sie den Ausländer verpflichten, den Wohnsitz an einem von ihr bestimmten Ort zu nehmen.
(2) Einem Ausländer kann die Ausreise in entsprechender Anwendung des § 10 Abs. 1 und 2 des Passgesetzes untersagt werden. Im Übrigen kann einem Ausländer die Ausreise aus dem Bundesgebiet nur untersagt werden, wenn er in einen anderen Staat einreisen will, ohne im Besitz der dafür erforderlichen Dokumente und Erlaubnisse zu sein. Das Ausreiseverbot ist aufzuheben, sobald der Grund seines Erlasses entfällt.
