Statute of Limitations (§ 70 AufenthG)
When do cost claims expire?
- Claims for costs of deportation, pushback, or rejection expire after 6 years. The period begins when the costs become due.
When is the statute of limitations interrupted?
The statute of limitations is interrupted if you:
- are not in Germany, or
- can no longer be located because you did not register your address.
This means: The 6-year period does not continue in these cases.
