§ 83 AufenthV: Fulfilment of identity document obligations

If you are required to present certain documents (under Section 57) and this obligation already existed when this ordinance took effect, the following rules apply:
You only need to present documents you already had if:
- The foreigners authority requests it from you
- You apply for or receive a residence title, a toleration, or a German passport substitute at the foreigners authority
- You file a notification under Section 56 no. 5
Other legal obligations from other provisions remain unaffected.
Sofern die Voraussetzungen der Pflicht zur Vorlage nach § 57 zum Zeitpunkt des Inkrafttretens dieser Verordnung erfüllt sind, hat der Ausländer die genannten Papiere, die er zu diesem Zeitpunkt bereits besaß, nach dieser Vorschrift nur auf Verlangen der Ausländerbehörde oder dann vorzulegen, wenn er bei der Ausländerbehörde einen Aufenthaltstitel, eine Duldung oder einen deutschen Passersatz beantragt oder erhält oder eine Anzeige nach § 56 Nr. 5 erstattet. Auf Grund anderer Vorschriften bestehende Rechtspflichten bleiben unberührt.
