For nine specific professional groups, you do not need approval. This applies if you want to get a residence title. This means: A residence title is the permission to live in Germany. If you belong to one of these nine groups, this residence title alone is enough.
Here are the nine groups.
Speakers and artists You give lectures. Or you perform in presentations of special scientific or artistic value. Presentations of a sporting nature also count. Your support staff are included as well. Requirement: You continue to habitually reside abroad. Your activity in Germany lasts no more than 90 days. These 90 days apply within a period of twelve months.
People at festivals, music and culture days You work at festivals or music and culture days. Or you are sent to Germany for guest performances or foreign film and television productions. Here too: your activity lasts no more than 90 days within twelve months.

- The relevant German national sports federation for your sport confirms your sporting qualification as a professional athlete. For coaches, it confirms their professional suitability as a coach. The national federation decides this in agreement with the German Olympic Sports Confederation.
