§ 18 Journalists

Journalists
For journalists, the immigration office does not need approval from the Federal Employment Agency. This applies to employees of an employer based abroad, if:
- The activity is recognized by the Federal Government Press and Information Office, or
- You work as a journalist in Germany while maintaining your usual residence abroad. The activity may last no more than 90 days within 12 months.
Keiner Zustimmung bedarf die Erteilung eines Aufenthaltstitels an Beschäftigte eines Arbeitgebers mit Sitz im Ausland,
- 1.deren Tätigkeit vom Presse- und Informationsamt der Bundesregierung anerkannt ist oder
- 2.die unter Beibehaltung ihres gewöhnlichen Aufenthaltes im Ausland im Inland journalistisch tätig werden, wenn die Dauer der Tätigkeit 90 Tage innerhalb eines Zeitraums von zwölf Monaten nicht übersteigt.
