§ 6a Reimbursement of expenses of other parties

Reimbursement of costs from other persons
Sometimes a person helps another person in an emergency. The helping person spends money doing this.
The office can reimburse these costs. This applies when:
- The help was necessary in an emergency
- The office would have otherwise paid for the help itself (under §§ 3, 4, and 6 AsylbLG)
- The helping person does not have to bear the costs themselves (for example, due to a legal or moral obligation)
Important: You must apply for reimbursement in time. Submit your application within a reasonable period to the responsible authority under the Asylum Seekers Benefits Act.
Hat jemand in einem Eilfall einem anderen Leistungen erbracht, die bei rechtzeitigem Einsetzen von Leistungen nach den §§ 3, 4 und 6 nicht zu erbringen gewesen wären, sind ihm die Aufwendungen in gebotenem Umfang zu erstatten, wenn er sie nicht auf Grund rechtlicher oder sittlicher Pflicht selbst zu tragen hat. Dies gilt nur, wenn die Erstattung innerhalb angemessener Frist beim zuständigen Träger des Asylbewerberleistungsgesetzes beantragt wird.
